Japan prosecutor seen close to Abe quits over gambling scandal

Hiromu Kurokawa is also at the center of a controversial bill pushed by Mr. Abe’s ruling Liberal Democratic Party that seeks to extend the mandatory retirement age of public prosecutors while allowing the Cabinet to influence their appointment.
